How can I tell what version of DeadAIM I am using?
DeadAIM has an about box that states the version. You can access it by clicking "About DeadAIM..." which is located in the buddy list window's help menu.

I installed DeadAIM but I cannot find the program to run to use it, where is it?
To use DeadAIM you just need to run AIM as there is no seperate executable. This means that DeadAIM uses very little extra system resources.

I switched on the option to put a DeadAIM in my profile but it hasn't showed up, why?
A link is only added to your profile if there is enough room. AIM profiles have a 1024 character limit. Also due to the fact that AIM caches its profile in memory switching on the option will not have an immediate effect. Either restarting AIM or editing your profile will allow the link to show up. Thank you for supporting DeadAIM in your profile!

The transparency or option is grayed out. How can I access this feature?
Transparency can only be used on Windows 2000/XP or higher as it relies on features that do not exist in earlier versions of Windows. Note: Windows ME is NOT Windows 2000.

I upgraded AIM and now DeadAIM doesn't work. What can I do?
Upgrading your AIM can sometimes disable DeadAIM. You can reactivate it by shutting down AIM and clicking the "Repair DeadAIM" option in the start menu group. DeadAIM also checks its install state when your machine starts up so a simple reboot should also fix your problem.

If DeadAIM still does not work correctly it may be because DeadAIM is not compatible with the very latest version of AIM. JDennis.net strives to be as quick as possible to support new versions so please accept our apologies and check back soon. DeadAIM supported version 5 of AIM three days after its first Beta was released.

Why should I report my installation and what information does DeadAIM send when I do so?
When you report your installation to JDennis.net it allows us to see what versions of AIM and Windows we should be supporting. This allows us to concentrate our work on areas that are most important to our customers. The only information sent is: DeadAIM version, AIM version and Windows version. This information is not, nor can be, linked to you personally in anyway and will never be released to third parties.
